Mr. Lafon, a residential construction teacher at William Blount since 1997, became principal in 2005. Mr. Lafon has Associate's from Hiwassee College; a Bachelor of Science in Marketing and Distributive Education from the University of Tennessee; and a Master's in School Administration from Tennessee Technological University. He worked in private enterprise as a plant manager before entering the education profession.

Ms. Moore earned a B.S. and M.A. degrees in English from Middle Tennessee State University and an Ed.S degree in administration and supervision from Lincoln Memorial University. Before being named Assistant Principal, she taught English for 20 years, beginning at Maryville High School. She spent ten years at Soddy-Daisy High School before coming to William Blount in 1998.

Mr. Porter received his bachelors degree in Psychology at UTK in 1975; his masters degree was attained in 1984 with a concentration in Educational Administration. Mr. Porter began his career in Blount County schools as a substitute teacher when he was a student at UTK. He started full-time as a teacher in Blount County in 1978 at Bungalow. He has taught and coached at a multitude of schools in the Blount County school system. In 2005, Mr. porter was promoted to an assistant principal at William Blount.

Mr. Brewer graduated from William Blount High School in 1988. He graduated from Tennessee TechnologicalUniversity in 1994. He earned a Masters degree in 1995 from Lincoln Memorial University. He has an Ed.S. in Administration & Supervision from Lincoln Memorial University, which he earned in 1998. He taught at Lanier from 1995 to 2001 and Carpenters Middle from 2001 to 2003. Before joining William Blount High school in 2005, he was an assistant principal at Friendsville Elementary from 2003 to 2005.

Mrs. Dowd earned a B.A. in English from Trevecca Nazarene University. She began teaching at William Blount High School in 1996. After transferring to Heritage Middle for its opening year in the fall of 2000 and taking three years off with her children, she returned to the English department at William Blount in 2004. After completing a M.A. degree in Instructional Leadership from Tennessee Technological University, Mrs. Dowd was named assistant principal and will serve at William Blount’s ninth-grade academy.
